Became Australian Citizen Today
After all those years of hard work, predictions and confusions etc...... Finally I became Australian Citizen today as the ceremony concluded. Good days:))))) share your story????

Can my friends give me a hand with my application?
By all means yes you can BUT the question you must ask your self is who will be on the loosing side if your friend gives you a wrong advise or MOST IMPORTANTLY IS HE QUALIFIED TO GIVE YOU THAT ADVISE?
IF NOT THEN please do not risk your application that is a life time worth!!!!!
If you are not confident enough, speak to an Immigration officer first and see if that works for you if not then I strongly recommend you use a Migration Agent.
DO NOT GO TO THOSE WHO CLAIM THAT THEY HAVE LINKS TO DIAC as the reality is even DIAC HAS no preference over the applications of doing a favor to anyone

Do I need to use a migration Agent?
and the answer is NO
TRUST ME GUYS CASE OFFICERS ARE MUCH MORE HELPFUL THAN AGENTS. I am not totally against them but they can sometimes create a mirage of stupid things in front of you that you get so scared and pay them more money to save your case but in reality they are not doing anything over and above or beyond their capabilities, all they are doing is just reading through the current laws and communicating that to you which in a way what their job is but I disagree to the fact that they charge you so much money for a piece of information that is available to general public anyway on the departments website.
Even DIAC says :

Who can translate your documents into English?
This can be a hassle for people who have their documents in their native language!
BUT HANG ON, there is nothing to panic, there is a procedure for this as well set out by DIAC.
It means that you can get your documents translated in to English by an accredited translator (a list can be found at the NAATI link mentioned below)
*If your documents have your language and a English translation to it then chances are you won't need to get it translated but liaise with your case officer and see what they think.
DIAC Says
"Any document in a language other than English must be accompanied by a certified English translation.
A translator in Australia must be accredited by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters.
A translator outside Australia does not need to be accredited, but they must endorse the translation with their full name, address, telephone number, and details of their qualifications and experience in the language being translated."

How about if you have a question you want to ask the department ?
It's little bit complicated and misinterpreted by most us and then spread like a rumour that DIAC will record a negative point against you if you contact them frequently that why he/she is so desperate and blah blah blah!!!
Friends that's all a myth, the truth is that you can contact DIAC as and when required as DIAC itself supports a clear channel of communication and transparency, in saying that please do not forget that if the reason for your call is a repetitive question that has been answered for you in the past, you are not doing any good for yourself rather than having a little bit of relief that "yessss i spoke to Immigration today and i am still in it", and whatever feeling that comes to your mind after you speak to them.
During my application process I too was very keen to speak to an officer every now and then but initially I too was scared for n number of reasons but THE BOTTOM LINE IS "IF THERE WAS NOTHING TO HID THEN THERE IS NOTHING TO BE SCARED OF",
On the contrary if there was something to hide then just pray to god because they will sooner or later find out and you may get deported. I am not trying scare the sheet out of you but all I am saying is SPEAK TRUTH AND FORGET EVERYTHING.
Now coming back to the "contacting the department", point, so as per my IQ you can and you must call the department if : (For the reasons mentioned below it's advisable that you use the forms I have mentioned but in the end it's your discretion if listening the same information form a living person after waiting for few hours on hold, then call them)

You think you may have made a mistake in your application and now you want to rectify it, there could be things like your marital status, any piece of information that you may incorrectly provided and you are aware of it now and want to do the right thing then go for it, DIAC loves to have correct information coming from the applicants rather than turning it in to an investigation that may be used against you. Use the form 1022 for it the link is http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/1022.pdf.
2. Change in your address or passport details
If you need to change your address, contact details or passport details then use http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/929.pdf
3. Also see this form: http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/1193.pdf
All in all, please remember that DIAC has a sheet loads of application to catch up with and your application is most important for you only but for DIAC they have to follow a fair policy and allocate files as per their directives and ministerial instructions. Also in the past there is history of immigrants coming on a skilled visa that was in shortage but the moment people were granted the visa they opt out and do something else.
RESIULT: The skill remained in shortage and DIAC was shocked that what the hell just happened, we have thrown in millions of visas and why the fruck the skills are still in shortage, so there you go.
Anyone reading this blog, I can guarantee, will have some questions to ask themselves. But by all means I am not here to judge individual circumstances as we all go through different phases of life and each situation is different and I value and respect all of them.
Moral of this post is that be transparent and don't be scared of calling DIAC if you have a valid reason and that cannot be resolved or addressed by writing to them via a method of genuine form system in place.
PLEASE DO NOT CALL THEM TO ASK WHEN WILL MY FILE BE ALLOCATED AS THE ANSWER WILL BE THE SAME and that please log in online and keep a track of your application, you will be notified if gets allocated.

Suggestion for all Australian Visa applicants.
Hi People
I apologize but I have changed the title of the blog in order to make it more worthwhile for people out there looking for some help and or a genuine community with a common purpose of discussing their concerns about Australian Visa Application during all stages.
I would like to stress on this once again that this forum is not an official representation of DIAC or Department of Immigration & Citizenship. If need legal advise on your visa you must contact a MARA registered agent. A list can be found at :

In saying that I can confidently say that if you are an active reader and know web browsing basics you will be able to find all the relevant information required for you visa. That's what I did, i have always been on DIAC website or http://www.immi.gov.au/Pages/Welcome.aspx for all the information and staff at DIAC are so helpful that you would not require a Migration Agent at all.
But individual situations and circumstances might need a different set of skilled people to comment on. Assess your situation speak to DIAC and see what you think.
Ask your self :
1. Do I need a agent?
2. Do I have my documents complete?
and all these questions.
Most important thing is guys, please never ever think that DIAC (follow then at @DIBPAustralia) is stupid or they will not find out about you trying to trick them because they will find out and they will make sure that you have been dealt accordingly.
The reason I say this is because during my Visa application process and throughout the life of my application till I received my 885 visa granted, there have been so many instances where in I was asked to submit this document and that document, so it's like those psychometric evaluations where they will ask you the same question after every 5 questions in a different way and it doesn't matter how smart or intelligent you are, YOU CAN NOT TRICK PEOPLE WHO ARE ALREADY SMARTER THAN YOU, that's you wanna be with them right. So get your sheet together and be honest and truthful.
Always remember, if you speak truth you don't need to remember anything!

Outcome of my visa vc885 General Skilled Migration Australia

It's been a along time since I posted on to this blog and the only reason was that I was going through a lot as my application progressed though the priority groups.
As my application was in the least priority group it took along time before it got allocated, so finally on 5th April 2013 I got the good news that my application was approved and I got my much awaited PR (not Public Relations lol) permanent residency.
So my visa journey went on for over 3 years and the timeline was
2010 - Applied for the VC885
2013 - Visa Granted
Really happy now and look froward to apply for the Citizenship, which I am eligible for in April 2014, not very far.
Based on this I welcome all your questions and or anything you would like to know about as I haven't put everything here but would love to hear your stories or discuss any topic that may be of your interest.
